They'll get through to him soon, though. And the riolu may just help, given his strength (according to the PokéDex that is) and psychic powers- there'll likely be no stopping him from doing what he wants.
But the gift isn't the only reason she's here- there's a lot of people, and it's been just them for a while, save when he went off with "Silver Vein". ]
